Dana White just tweeted that Alistair Overeem is officially out of UFC 146’s main event in advance of Tuesday’s NSAC meeting. In his place? Frank Mir, who is going to be pulled out of his fight with Cain Velasquez and inserted into the title fight.
No word on Overeem’s status in the UFC as of yet, or who Cain will fight if he remains on the card.
UPDATE: Per MMA Fighting, Cain will still be on the card but an opponent will be named later.
“Mir’s original opponent, Cain Velasquez, will remain on the card, however a replacement opponent has yet to be decided, Velasquez’s manager Bob Cook told MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani.”
