Much was made of Rory MacDonald making a challenge to BJ Penn to come back for another fight in the welterweight division. Penn famously turned down fights against Josh Koscheck and Gilbert Melendez in his semi-retirement and it seemed like he would do so again against the Canadian welterweight prodigy. Penn took to his own website to give MacDonald a response that shocked many.
“Rory, I accept your challenge!”
So far no bout agreement has been signed but both fighters are looking towards UFC 152 in Toronto for the fight.
