Def Leppard To Re-Record Old Hits To Spite Record Company

News

Def Leppard is taking a unique approach to their ongoing dispute with Universal Music Group — rerecording all their old hits so that they have 100% of the rights themselves.  The group has already released the new version of “Pour Some Sugar On Me”, with more on the way once their current tour is over.  The new versions would replace the originals on iTunes and other digital music services, leaving UMG with zero money made on Def Lep’s music as a result.  Wonder if Joe Elliot is going to have to look up the same groupies from 20 years ago now and sleep with them all over again?
