Chael Sonnen Back to Light Heavyweight, Facing Forrest Griffin in December

After seeing his middleweight title dreams dashed once again by Anderson Silva, the outspoken Chael Sonnen has moved up a weight class to light heavyweight. He will meet Forrest Griffin December 29th in a rematch of their September 2003 battle, a contest that was won via triangle submission by Griffin. The announcement was made on FUEL TV’s “UFC Tonight” on Tuesday.

UFC have yet to assign a name to the December 29th card, but the show will be main evented by a heavyweight title rematch between Cain Velasquez and current title holder Junior dos Santos.
