Hope became a reality for The Voice‘s Cassadee Pope last night as she became the third season’s winner.
There was never really any doubt that the stunning singer whose style has been described as a country/pop hybrid was going to become the show’s first female victor throughout the season as her iTunes sales simply dominated those of the other contestants in the competition. With the show adopted a new system where contestant songs that chart in the Top 10 are multiplied by 10 and count toward a cumulative score, Pope’s win was about as sure a thing as you can get in reality television.
With that being said, the former Hey Monday band member is deservedly $150,000 richer and also received a new car along with the other Top 3 finalists Terry McDermott and Nicholas David.
I had the chance to catch up with Pope, moments after she won on December 18, 2012. We discuss how she stole my thunder by being the best dressed, if she expected the win, what it felt like when she was standing next to fellow Team Blake member Terry McDermott and what’s next for her.
