Exclusive: 2012 – A Year In Film [Video]

Media, Top Story, Video

2012 has been a very interesting year for film to say the least. I won’t embellish to much, instead I’ll save that for my Top 10 countdown of favorite films, which will appear on this site on December 31st. Might as well end the year with a bang, right? This year we had the thrilling conclusion of Christopher Nolan’s Batman Trilogy as well as Joss Whedon coming into his own with Marvel’s The Avengers and the great satirical horror release The Cabin in the Woods. Rian Johnson who arrived on the scene five years ago with Brick flipped the script on the time-traveling genre with Looper starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis. 2012 was also a coming-out year for both Matthew McConaughey (Killer Joe, Magic Mike) and Channing Tatum, who starred in not one, not two, but three films that grossed over $100 million, but it was 21 Jump Street where he came into his own.

That’s it for the nostalgia trip for now. In the meantime enjoy this montage that encapsulates the year in film.
