Several reports are indicating that Rey Mysterio’s days are numbered with WWE due to multiple injuries he has sustained over the years and also because he has two WWE Wellness Policy strikes against him. While Mysterio can still be extremely valuable to WWE and is nearly irreplaceable when it comes to WWE’s Latin American fans, there is more speculation than ever that Rey could be out of the company for good sooner than later.
CB’s Slant: Alberto Del Rio’s poorly timed face turn makes a little more sense if WWE is as concerned about Mysterio’s condition as these reports are indicating. That being said, Del Rio has failed to connect as a baby face character despite being a tremendous wrestler in the ring, so the jury is still out on whether or not Del Rio could ever achieve that deep-rooted level of support that so many fans have for Mysterio.
