CB’s Slant: Sting Promises to Bring Back the Main Event Mafia to Take Down Aces and Eights (Impact Wrestling Thursday 06.13.2013)

News, Top Story

On Thursday’s episode of TNA Impact Wrestling 6/13/13, Sting came out to talk about losing to Bully Ray at Slammiversary. He also made it a point to call out the TNA roster for not helping him at all when Aces and Eights was beating him down at the PPV, and then promised to bring back the Main Event Mafia to battle Aces and Eights. Check out the video highlight below:

CB’s Slant: I like the idea of a Main Event Mafia return, and I am wondering who Sting will get to join him in the group this time around. Hopefully, original MEM member Scott Steiner is one of the members, and they just give him an open mic for 15 minutes every week.

For those who don’t recall, the MEM was a heel faction of ex-Champions originally formed by Sting in October 2008 and later disbanded in February 2010. The core members were Sting, Kurt Angle (who ousted Sting at one point to take over the group), Kevin Nash, Booker T and Scott Steiner. They also had Traci Brooks, Sharmell, and Survivor winner Jenna Morasca on the female side. Taz was also an advisor to Samoa Joe and an ally of the Main Event Mafia after Joe joined the group.

The return of the MEM was teased in January 2011, but then Booker T and Kevin Nash returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble and those plans were changed by TNA.

So, what do you think of the return of the Main Event Mafia? Who would you have in the group? Sound off in the comments section below.
