ROUND 1- Villefort and Spencer get the night started with our lone Facebook prelim. Villefort quickly takes the center of the Octagon and misses a flying knee. Villefort then lands a leg kick followed by another. Villefort goes for a body kick but falls to the ground and gets right back up. Villefort with a knee as Spencer counters with a right hand. Spencer lands a left as he rushes in with a combo. They trade punches and Spencer gets the better of it. Villefort presses forward and lands a left hand. Villefort misses a spinning back kick. Villefort with a big outside leg kick. Spencer with a double jab and attacks the body but Villefort lands some knees from the clinch. Spencer looks to land a combo but Villefort uses his movement nicely to avoid it. Villefort misses a front kick and Spencer attacks with a nice combination. Villefort looks for a takedown but Spencer defends it. Villefort lands a left hook. Spencer with a left hand but Villefort counters with a leg kick. They trade but Spencer gets the better of the exchange. Villefort with a body kick. Spencer looks to land but Villefort uses sound movement though Spencer lands a big right hand. Villefort attacks the body with some kicks but finds himself against the cage. Spencer lands a right hand. Back to the center and Villefort lands a body kick followed by a leg kick. Spencer is avoiding the punches but can’t check the kicks. Villefort gets a takedown but Spencer gets right back up. Spencer’s corner yells for him to finish strong but Villefort is the one who lands a leg kick. Nice little exchange to end a close opening round. 10-9 Villefort.
ROUND 2- Villefort gets an immediate takedown to start the round and is looking to establish solid top control. Spencer gets the fight back to the feet and lands a head kick. Spencer backs Villefort up with some hands. Spencer with the double jab and Villefort lands a body kick. Villefort just misses a teet kick to the face. Villefort still landing with leg kicks as Spencer is failing to check them. They trade punches and Villefort lands a body kick as Spencer begins to slow down. Spencer misses a right hand. They each land jabs and Villefort goes for a takedown but it is defended by Spencer. Villefort lands a leg kick and Spencer counters with a right hand. The pace has slowed but Villefort lands a kick and Spencer lands a right hand. Villefort with another round of leg kicks and Spencer isn’t checking them. Another leg kick by Villefort and they’re making the difference in this fight. Villefort lands another leg kick as Spencer tried to throw a right hand. Villefort with another leg kick that stumbles Spencer but he gets right back to his feet. Villefort goes for another takedown and tries to spin this fight to the ground but can’t finish it. Spencer with a right hand and they trade against the cage as the round ends. Another close round but looked more like Villefort’s round. 10-9 Villefort. 20-18 Villefort.
ROUND 3- This fight is still up for grabs as both rounds have been close. Spencer needs to check those leg kicks in this final round. Villefort quickly takes the center of the Octagon but both are looking tired. Spencer rushes in with a nice combination and backs up Villefort. Villefort lands another big leg kick and it isn’t checked. Spencer lands a leg kick of his own but misses a right hand at the end. Villefort with another leg kick but it is checked this time. Spencer is pushing the tempo of this round and lands a leg kick followed by a right hand. Villefort with a rushing knee that hits. Villefort misses a left hand and Spencer counters to the body. Villefort misses another punch and Spencer is landing his strikes. Villefort misses another front teet kick attempt but lands a knee. Villefort with a body kick and Spencer misses his punches. Villefort shoots for a takedown but it is defended. They trade punches against the cage before moving back to the center. Spencer lands a combo but Villefort comes back with another leg kick. Villefort with a body kick. Spencer lands a body kick of his own. Villefort with a body kick and goes for another takedown but it is defended. Spencer makes Villefort eat some punches. Spencer with a right hand. Villefort tries to land the jab but Spencer lands a big right hand. Spencer with another right hand. Villefort comes back with a combo and a body kick. Spencer lands a big combination and Villefort eats it. Spencer is turning it on at the end of the round as he tries to win it. They get a nice trade of strikes and Spencer gets a nice flurry to close out the fight. Nice opener and a close one. 10-9 Spencer. 29-28 Villefort.
