Welcome fight fans to Inside Fights’ live coverage of UFC On FOX: Werdum vs. Browne from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. The event is headlined by a five-round heavyweight bout as Fabricio Werdum takes on Travis Browne to determine the next challenger for Cain Velasquez’ reign as UFC Heavyweight Champion. I’m Ryan Frederick and I’ll be handling the coverage of the event. The event will kick off with preliminary action on UFC Fight Pass, then switches over to FOX Sports 1 for continuing preliminary bouts leading into the main card on FOX. The action kicks off at 3:30 PM eastern time.

Derrick Lewis (9-2 (1), 0-0 UFC) vs. Jack May (7-0, 0-0 UFC)

ROUND 1- We kick things off with a heavyweight bout featuring two men making their UFC debuts. Lewis has won three straight fights while May is undefeated in his career. Lewis comes into the fight as the betting favorite. ‘Big’ John McCarthy will be the referee for this opening fight. May starts with a leg kick and then another. May misses a right hand. Lewis shoots in and scores a power takedown and has May on his back against the fence. Lewis with some short punches but not much action going down on the ground. Lewis is in top and looking to move to side control. May has the double underhooks and reverses the position and ends up on top. Still not much action happening on the ground. They get to their feet but May drags the fight back down and May transitions to full mount and is looking for the arm triangle. May with a right hand from the top. May with short punches and Lewis is doing nothing from the bottom. May with some hard right hands to the body. Lewis spins around and scrambles to the top and lands some big punches. Lewis has the back and lands two big punches from the top. Big ground-and-pound from Lewis but May gets out and to his feet. Lewis lands a big elbow. May tries to take it down but Lewis reverses and is landing big punches from the top. May is in a lot of trouble and it is over! McCarthy stops the fight and May is still down and hurt.

ROUND 1- We move to the featherweight division with a battle between newcomers to the UFC. Both men come into the UFC undefeated in their careers. Bektic is a slight favorite in this fight. Jorge Ortiz is the referee for this bout. Bektic with the double jab and right hand to start the attack. Skelly looking to land the jab. Skelly misses a front kick but lands a right hand. Bektic lands a right hand. Both looking to land the jab and close the distance. They trade punches. Skelly lands a solid right hand. They trade punches and then tie up and Skelly pushes Bektic against the fence. Skelly misses a knee and they switch positions. Skelly is cut under his right eye. Bektic with a foot stomp. They trade short knees. Both battle for position against the fence. They break. Skelly with a leg kick and they trade punches. They trade again. Skelly misses an overhand right. Bektic lands a combo. Skelly goes for a takedown but Bektic ends up on top in the guard and lands some big right hands and elbows. More big elbows from Bektic. Skelly tries to close his guard. Bektic postures up and lands a right hand. Bektic passes to half-guard. This fight is going to go to the second round. 10-9 Bektic.

ROUND 2- They trade punches to start the second round. Skelly misses a right hand. Bektic has a right hand blocked and Skelly counters with a right that backs Bektic up. Bektic lands a combo. Skelly misses a right hand. Skelly lands a jab. Bektic lands a solid uppercut in close range. Bektic lands a left hand. They each lands a punch. Bektic with a solid combo and lands a left hook. Skelly lands a right hand and backs Bektic against the fence. Skelly goes for the takedown but Bektic defends and lands some punches against the fence. Skelly lands a right hand against the fence and Bektic reverses positions. Bektic with some foot stomps against the fence. They both spin away to striking distance. Bektic lands a combo and then lands a right hand. Skelly nails Bektic with a right hand and gets rocked. Against the fence and Skelly lands an illegal knee and Bektic is rocked big time. It looked to be over but we have a timeout and now Skelly has been deducted a point. This fight continues but shouldn’t be. Skelly with a right hand. Bektic is coming out slow. Bektic lands a left hand and goes for a takedown. Skelly lands a knee in a clinch. Bektic misses a right hand. Skelly with a front kick. This round ends. Skelly’s round but got the point deducted. 9-9, 19-18 Bektic.

ROUND 3- Bektic looks hurt between rounds. They trade punches. Neither landing their jabs. Skelly lands a right hand and Bektic lands one as well. Skelly lands another. Skelly lands a right hand and Bektic picks Skelly up and slams him down to the ground. Bektic on top and inside the guard. Bektic with some body punches. Bektic transitions to half-guard. Bektic with some right hands from the top. Skelly looks to use the cage to spin out and grabs a leg looking for the leg lock. They scramble on the ground and Skelly gets the back of Bektic. Skelly with some heel strikes. Skelly has one hook in and has wrist control. Bektic gets out of back control and ends up on top and moves to half-guard. Bektic with some punches from the top. Skelly gets to his feet and lands a side elbow. They separate. Skelly lands a right hand that stuns Bektic and then again with the jab. Skelly lands a knee and Bektic counters with a big takedown but Skelly looks to grab the leg and is looking for a knee bar. Bektic spins out. They are scrambling mad on the ground and Skelly lands some punches from the bottom to end the fight. Big finish from both there and a close round. 10-9 Bektic, 29-27 Bektic.

Dustin Ortiz (12-3, 1-1 UFC) vs. Ray Borg (6-0, 0-0 UFC)

Referee: Jorge Alonso

ROUND 1- We move to a flyweight bout. Ortiz was slated to fight last week but his bout was cancelled and he moved to this fight card. Borg stepped in on short notice and comes into the UFC with a perfect record. Ortiz is the favorite. Jorge Alonso will be the third man in the Octagon. Ortiz pressuring right away with the jab and goes in for the takedown. They clinch against the fence and Ortiz with some knees. Borg grabs the neck and looks to jump up for a guillotine but it isn’t close. Ortiz transitions to the ground and escapes on top. Ortiz looks to move to side control. Borg switches position and is on top of Ortiz. Ortiz with some right hands from the bottom and then more to the body as Borg looks to extend Ortiz on the ground. Ortiz with some elbows and punches to the shoulders. Ortiz with more punches to the body from the bottom. Borg picks Ortiz up and slams him down and spins to the back and jumps up and looks for the hooks. Ortiz ends up on top and has the neck of Borg and is looking for the guillotine and softening Borg up with punches. They get to their feet and Borg slams Ortiz down again and takes the back. Ortiz reverses position and ends up in the guard of Borg. They scramble to their feet and Borg lands right hands to end the round. Close round. 10-9 Ortiz.

ROUND 2- Ortiz comes out and looks to land the jab. Ortiz with a body kick. Borg misses a spin kick. They trade punches and Ortiz pushes Borg against the fence and lands a knee. They battle for positioning against the fence. Ortiz with a knee to the body. Ortiz gets a slam into side control against the fence. Ortiz with some elbows from the top. Ortiz with more elbows and is looking to set something up. Borg is able to hip escape and they get to their feet. Borg gets Ortiz to the ground and grabs the back and has the hooks in. Borg has a body triangle but Ortiz is looking to escape and not in a lot of trouble as he holds the arm. Ortiz lets go and eats some punches from Borg. Borg looks for the choke and has his arm across the chin but Ortiz escapes. Borg with some right hands from the back and is still looking for the choke. Borg with more big right hands from the back. Ortiz stands up and has Borg on his back still. Borg looking for a standing rear-naked choke. Ortiz drops to the ground and Borg is in a great position and has Ortiz in trouble but Ortiz scrambles out. Borg still has the back with the body triangle but this round is going to end. 10-9 Borg, 19-19.

ROUND 3- This round could decide the winner. Ortiz quickly comes to the center and lands a big jab. Ortiz with a head kick and he is firing away. Ortiz with a combo and they clinch and Ortiz pushes Borg against the cage. Ortiz with some short knees. Borg with a knee and it forces a break. Ortiz with a leg kick. Ortiz lands a right hand and then a combo. Ortiz with the jab and then one to the body followed by an overhand right. Borg with a body kick and then a spinning kick. Ortiz lands a big head kick. Borg with a leg kick. Borg with a jumping knee that lands flush. They tie up and Ortiz pushes the fight against the fence. Ortiz with some short knees. They scramble and break as they land punches. Ortiz with a right hand and they clinch. Ortiz with some knees. Borg looks for a clinch takedown but to no avail. Borg lands a knee as they break and goes for a takedown and gets Ortiz down to the mat and is on top looking to complete the takedown. Ortiz with some elbows and gets to his feet. Borg scrambles to the back but Ortiz escapes out and sprawls. They get to their feet and Borg grabs the back and picks Ortiz up and slams him down to the mat. 20 seconds left. Borg looks to take the back and Ortiz looks to escape. This fight ends. Excellent fight. 10-9 Ortiz, 29-28 Ortiz.

ROUND 1- Mein returns to the Octagon after being out of action for the last 364 days. He gets a tough prospect in Perpetuo, who is making his UFC debut as an injury replacement for Santiago Ponzinibbio. Mein is the betting favorite. Herb Dean makes his first appearance as a referee on the card. Mein looking to land the right hand as he pressures Perpetuo against the fence. They trade leg kicks. Mein with a big leg kick as he is throwing feints. Perpetuo with a jab to the body. Mein counters with a solid combo. Perpetuo with a leg kick. Mein with a high kick. Mein scores a takedown and is on top. Mein with an elbow and some big left hands from the top. Mein with an elbow to the body and then some punches. Mein with big left hands from the top and some solid ground-and-pound. Mein postures up and goes to half-guard as he lands the left hand. Perpetuo in butterfly guard. Mein with some elbows and left hands from the top. Perpetuo looks to sweep and does and they get to their feet. Mein with a left hand and then a big knee that lands flush. Mein with a leg kick. ROUND 2- Mein with a leg kick to start the second round. Perpetuo misses a leg kick as Mein slides out of the range. Perpetuo lands a leg kick. Both miss on attacks. Mein lands a leg kick after a minute of nothing landing. Mein with a front kick. Perpetuo looks to land the left hand but Mein is moving out of the way. Mein with a series of left hands that land. Mein with an inside leg kick. Perpetuo misses on some punch attempts. Mein lands a combo. Perpetuo with a leg kick. Mein just misses an uppercut. Mein with a left hand and the crowd starts to boo. Mein with a leg kick and transitions to a shot and he gets Perpetuo down to the ground. Mein moves to half-guard. Mein with some body punches and they get to their feet. Mein with a left hand and ducks an overhand right from Perpetuo. They trade right hands and Perpetuo misses a big right hand. Not a lot of action went down in this round but it goes to Mein as he finishes with a right hand. 10-9 Mein, 20-18 Mein.

ROUND 3- Mein in solid control of this fight as we head to the final round. Mein with a left hook. Perpetuo lands a left hand. Perpetuo lands a right hand as he starts to get aggressive. Mein with a teet kick as he avoids a combo. Mein with a right hand and a leg kick to follow. Mein with the double jab. Mein with a leg kick. Perpetuo misses a head kick. Mein lands a right hand and then a leg kick. Perpetuo is bleeding behind the ear. Mein shoots in and scores a takedown and is landing left hands from the top. Perpetuo scrambles and gets a heel hook and has it locked in. Mein winces for a moment and his leg is locked up but he is staying composed. Mein gets out of trouble and takes Perpetuo’s back. Perpetuo is on top. Perpetuo with a right hand from the top. Mein scrambles to his feet and the separate. They both miss punches. Mein misses a combo. Mein with a step-in elbow. Perpetuo misses some punches and they trade an exchange. Perpetuo with a solid combo and he hurts Mein. Perpetuo lands a right hand and Mein shoots in for a takedown. Perpetuo sprawls and they move to ground work. Perpetuo with some punches from the top but this fight comes to an end. 10-9 Perpetuo, 29-28 Mein.

Caio Magalhaes (7-1, 2-1 UFC) vs. Luke Zachrich (13-2, 0-0 UFC)

ROUND 1- Zachrich makes his UFC debut, and he was actually on TUF 7 six years ago in 2008. He is an injury replacement for Josh Samman. Magalhaes has won two straight fights and is the betting favorite. John McCarthy will oversee this bout. Zachrich starts off with a leg kick. Magalhaes just misses a big right hand but lands a leg kick. They trade punches and Magalhaes hurts him with a left and then some knees. Magalhaes is throwing big punches and lands a body shot and a knee to the liver. Zachrich goes down and Magalhaes lands some big punches from the top and this fight is stopped! Magalhaes with a big TKO win in under a minute.

Estevan Payan (14-5 (1), 0-2 UFC) vs. Alex White (9-0, 0-0 UFC)

ROUND 1- White is making his UFC debut with a 9-0 record, and he is Payan’s third different opponent after both Sean Soriano and Mike Brown were forced out. Payan is looking to end a two-fight losing streak. Payan is the favorite. Jorge Ortiz will officiate this bout. Payan with a body kick to start off the fight. They trade kicks and Payan lands a left hook. White with a left hand and a kick to the body. Payan with a body kick and White comes back with a body kick. White misses a spinning back fist but lands a body kick. Payan with a right hand to the body. Payan lands an overhand right. Payan misses a head kick but lands a right hand. White with a left hand and misses a spinning back fist. White drops Payan with a punch and several punches on the ground and Payan is out and this fight is over! Left hand from White dropped Payan and he landed about seven punches. Payan protested the stoppage but he was out cold and woken up from a punch.

Masvidal just misses a left hand. Masvidal with a side push kick. Healy tags Masvidal and tries a takedown but it is defended and they break. Healy with a right hand and then one to the body. Healy with an inside leg kick. Masvidal with a leg kick and they trade punches. They trade punches and Healy lands a flush right hand. Healy goes for a takedown against the fence but Masvidal defends it. Masvidal has the neck and is looking for a standing guillotine but Healy is defending. Masvidal with some knees to the head and some elbows to the body. They break. Healy with a combo to the body but eats a knee. Healy going back for a takedown but eats an elbow to the side of the head. Healy gets the fight down to the mat but Masvidal gets up. He eats some punches and a knee on the way up. Dos Anjos with a body kick. Nurmgomedov drops down for a takedown and he completes it. Dos Anjos quickly tries to work back to his feet but eats some punches from Nurmgomedov. They get to their feet. Nurmgomedov still has the leg and is looking to get it back down and does. They get back up. Dos Anjos with a knee and they break. Cerrone drops Barboza down with a left hand and quickly locks in a rear-naked choke and Barboza taps out! Cerrone dropped him with a jab and got that submission in fast and gets the huge win.

ROUND 2- Tate just misses a right hand but then lands one. Tate looking to land the jab. They trade and Carmouche shoots in. Tate grabs the neck against the fence. Carmouche locks the body and pushes Tate against the fence. Tate looks to take this fight down but Carmouche defends. Tate with some knees to Carmouche’s legs. They break. Tate with a left hand. Tate lands a combo. Tate with a front kick and then lands a left hand. They tie up against the fence. Carmouche with a takedown but Tate immediately starts landing elbows and they get to their feet. Carmouche drops back down and gets another takedown. Carmouche is holding Tate down as Tate struggles to get to her feet. Not much is happening though. Tate grabs the neck and gets to her feet and has a guillotine somewhat in across the chin. Tate drops down and is looking for the guillotine choke. Carmouche gets out but Tate is on top. Carmouche gets up and Tate lands some knees. Carmouche switches and takes Tate’s back but the round comes to a close. Neither did much but we’ll give it to Tate as she had better striking and the submission to negate two small takedowns from Carmouche. 10-9 Tate, 19-19.

ROUND 3- These ladies come out swinging and Tate lands some punches. Tate goes for a takedown against the fence and Carmouche lands some elbows. Tate with the takedown. Tate gets another takedown and is in side control. Tate with a short elbow. Tate looking for a mounted crucifix. Carmouche is looking to scramble out from under the bottom. Tate with elbows and punches from the top. Carmouche gets back to half-guard. Tate switches and takes Carmouche’s back and is looking for a choke. Tate has one hook in. Tate with big punches from the back. Tate is cranking on the neck but doesn’t have the choke in. Tate with some punches from Carmouche’s back. Tate trying for the submission but can’t get the arm under the chin. Tate is trying hard to get it locked in. Tate with big punches from the back. Carmouche is trying to stand but Tate flattes her out and it is locked in. Carmouche is defending but it is in deep. Carmouche got out. Tate was super close to getting the submission.
