A featherweight match-up featuring a Swedish fighter fighting in his home country has been added to October’s UFC Fight Night 53 card.
Niklas Backstrom (1-0) takes on Mike Wilkinson (1-1) in a fight that has been added to a card that already features the return of Amir Sadollah.
Backstrom who has been fighting as a professional for the past five years has been undefeated. In his UFC debut, he earned an impressive submission over Tom Niinimaki at UFC Fight Night 41 in Berlin. He also took home a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for the match.
Wilkinson suffered his first career loss in his last match against Rony Mariano Bezerra at UFC on FUEL TV 10.
