The California Kid is set to take his show on the road.
Urijah Faber has signed on to meet Masanori Kanehara at UFC Fight Night 52 in Saitama, Japan on September 20. The bout required Kanehara, a former Senoku featherweight champion to sign a new deal with UFC. The news was initially reported by FightSportAsia.
Kanehara (23-11-5) enters the UFC after losing his fight in Japan, which broke his six-fight winning streak. All of his recent victories came with stoppages, five of them in the first round. Kanehara holds wins over Michihiro Omigawa, “Kid” Yamamoto and Chan Sung Jung in his MMA career.
Faber (31-7) always looks strong and look dominant in his last UFC appearance, forcing Alex Caceres to submit in the third round at UFC 175.
