In a recent interview, Team Takedown striking trainer Steven Wright discussed Johnny Hendricks’ upcoming title defense against Robbie Lawler at UFC 181 next Saturday.
Wright says that many believe that Hendricks can only win matches by knockout but that this simply isn’t the case and won’t be against Lawler.
“You can’t plan on a KO. Everything we do is geared towards winning the round,” Wright said. “If you send somebody out there saying ‘score this and it’s gonna be a KO,’ and it’s not a KO? It’s like you leave them in no man’s land.”
