Shout Factory Brings The Six Million Dollar Man To Blu-ray

News, Top Story

“We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was. Better, stronger, faster.” Now The Six Million Dollar Man is getting rebuilt to 1080p. This summer Shout! Factory is releasing The Six Million Dollar Man Blu-ray Collector’s Edition because they have the technology. The iconic ’70s series will look better than if you have a bionic eye. The show was about how after a devestating accident, the US government saved the life of astronaut Steve Austin (The Fall Guy‘s Lee Majors) by replacing his body parts with robotic legs, an arm and eye. He became a major spy that saved the world over a course of three TV movies and five seasons with 99 episodes. If you were a kid in the ’70s, you couldn’t run or lift things up without either humming the show’s theme song or making the bionic sound effect. While you might have childhood memories of the show or have watched it recently on a digital substation, be prepared to marvel the upgrade to Blu-ray.

There’s now a listing for The Six Million Dollar Man Blu-ray boxset at Amazon with a release day of July 12, 2022. Cancel your summer beach trip since you’ll be stuck inside watching Steve Austin, Oscar Goldman and Dr. Rudy Wells save the world. We’ll post updates as more details emerge.

UPDATE: From Shout Factory’s Website: This 33-Blu-ray set includes all 99 episodes, the 3 pilot films, 3 reunion films and bonus crossover episodes of The Bionic Woman. You’ll get to see Lindsay Wagner in 1080p!
