Whether you know him as an action movie hero or as a governor (“The Governator”) Arnold Schwarzenegger undoubtedly leaves an impression everywhere he goes.
Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger is an Austrian-born American actor, model, producer, director, activist, businessman, investor, writer, philanthropist, former professional bodybuilder, and politician. Schwarzenegger served two terms as the 38th Governor of California from 2003 until 2011.
Schwarzenegger began weight training at the age of 15. He won the Mr. Universe title at age 20 and went on to win the Mr. Olympia contest seven times.
Schwarzenegger has remained a prominent presence in bodybuilding and has written many books and articles on the sport. Schwarzenegger gained worldwide fame as a Hollywood action film icon. Schwarzenegger’s breakthrough film was Conan the Barbarian in 1982, which was a box-office hit. In 1984, he appeared in James Cameron’s science-fiction thriller film The Terminator, which was a massive critical and box-office success. Schwarzenegger subsequently reprised the Terminator character in the franchise’s later sequels.
He appeared in a number of other films such as Commando (1985), The Running Man (1987), Predator (1987), Twins (1988), Total Recall (1990), Kindergarten Cop (1990) and True Lies (1994).
Schwarzenegger was first elected to political office in October 2003 in a recall election to replace then-Governor of California Gray Davis. Schwarzenegger completed the remainder of Davis’s term and was then re-elected on November 7, 2006 and completed his second term in 2011.
Schwarzenegger appeared on November 11, 1999’s Smackdown.While there he plugged his upcoming movie End of Days and developed repertoire with Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Schwarzenegger attended the show, sitting ringside at the announcer’s table. During a match that involved Triple H, Test and Stone Cold Steve Austin it appeared Stone Cold was losing the numbers game and Schwarzenegger tossed a steel chair to Austin, allowing Austin to fight back and come out on top.

After the match Triple H confronted and attempted to attack Schwarzenegger only to be beat down by the Austrian. At WrestleMania XXIX, Schwarzenegger inducted long-time friend Bruno Sammartino into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2013.
On the March 24, 2014 edition of RAW, Schwarzenegger and co-star Joe Manganiello appeared to promote their upcoming film Sabotage while doing an in-ring segment with WrestleMania XXX host Hulk Hogan. They were interrupted by The Miz and the three friends teamed together, forcing Miz into retreat as Schwarzenegger bid The Miz a farewell using his iconic movie catchphrase “Hasta la vista baby”.
Schwarzenegger will be inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame, Celebrity Wing on March 28, 2015.
