SDCC 2016: Marvel Comics Plans For Fantastic Four Disappoints Fans As Marvel Now 2016 Set To Kick Off!

News

Fantastic Four the end comic

During San Diego Comic Con 2016 (SDCC 2016) a fan naturally asked Marvel Executives about their plans for the MIA Fantastic Four. Marvel’s response was unfortunate and a bit insulting.

[Marvel EIC Axel] Alonso said there aren’t plans for them [the FF] right now, but you can see two of them in other books. We love those characters as much as you.”

I assume the two Fantastic Four characters are the Thing, who I think is hanging out with the Guardians of the Galaxy during Marvel Now 2016, and the Human Torch, who I believe is entwined with the Inhumans currently.

The unfortunate part of the response is that Marvel allegedly has no plans for the Fantastic Four and the insulting part is the line about Marvel loving the FF as much as the fans; if they did they’d at least have a plan for the FF.

When did the FF become so radioactive? And, before anyone mentions the terrible FF movie last year, the FF has been toxic even before then.

RIP Fantastic Four?
