Marvel Comics and August 2017 Solicitations Spoilers follow.
Marvel Comics has released their August 2017 solicitations. Like DC Comics, who is celebrating what would have been Jack Kirby’s 100th birthday with 6 one-shots featuring new stories paying tribute to Kirby’s creations plus other books, Marvel on the otherhand will be featuring Kirby creations on variant covers.
They start with the below:
- Kirby 100th Anniversary Variant Cover by JACK KIRBY CONNECTING VARIANT COVER BY ALEX ROSS
Said connecting cover has not been released. The books that will have part of that Jack Kirby connecting cover by Alex Ross are:
- GENERATIONS: THE UNWORTHY THOR & THE MIGHTY THOR #1
- GENERATIONS: PHOENIX & JEAN GREY #1
- GENERATIONS: BANNER HULK & THE TOTALLY AWESOME HULK #1
- GENERATIONS: WOLVERINE & ALL-NEW WOLVERINE #1
- GENERATIONS: HAWKEYE & HAWKEYE #1
It looks like the Generations mini-series gets that tribute cover by Alex Ross.
Marvel is also including Jack Kirby remastered character-based variant covers across other books in August 2017 including:
- GENERATIONS: THE UNWORTHY THOR & THE MIGHTY THOR #1 (featuring Thor)
- SECRET EMPIRE #9 (featuring Ant-Man)
- CAPTAIN AMERICA #25 – no Steve Rogers or Sam Wilson noted in the title any longer (featuring Mole Man and Nick Fury)
- ULTIMATES 2 #100 (featuring Galactus)
- SILVER SURFER #14 (featuring SS)
