Darkseid Is Now About Life Vs. Anti-Life?

Does JLO Set-Up DCeased Event Series?

Coincidentally, DC Comics started hyping and teasing DCeased in a house ad in all their core super-hero titles this week too.

Also, the tease for DCeased included this…

…which was the omega to the alpha of how the Mister Miracle max-series revered him.

Plus the DCeased #1 teasers also include Cyborg prominently; another core JLO member who incidently has Apokolips (the planet formerly ruled by Darkseid) tech literally in him allowing him to create Boom Tubes, etc..

Well, in JLO #8 several forces converge on teh false gods of Justice League Odyssey: Azrael, Starfire and Cyborg plus those with them…

…Green Lantern Jessica Cruz and a trapped Darkseid.

He has been humbled, de-powere, de-aged, and regrown to what he is now…

…we wants to save the multiverse from the catastrophe of the Source Wall being destroyed.

The Other Box reveals to the JLO the true history and complexity of the multiverse including Perpetua’s hand in it…

…and how only Azrael, Starfire and Cyborg along with Darkseid can stave off destruction by helping create the Sepulkore.

Starfire believes Darkseid to an extent and…

…he explains he needs them to find further artifacts in the Ghost Sector.

Just then, they are attacked by…

…Blackfire and Rapture’s forces…

…including a cool confrontation between Azrael and Rapture.

During the battle, Darkseid is freed in the crossfire and the Other Box booms Cyborg and Darkseid…

…to another planet in the Ghost Sector.

There’s a building with Darkseid’s Omega symbol on it yet Cyborg can’t find Darkseid, but…

…he does find creatures intent on ensuring the Sepulkore is not built.

The Pulse:

The JLO has been a book with lots of promise and great artists. However, it seems like it lurched from story to story until today when it seems like the team has a real purpose. It also appears to be seeding DCeased which is rumored to involve the solving the Anti-Life Equation. I loved this issue, but it had to much dialogue and not enough action. Entertaining though. 7 out 10.
