With less than 48 hours to the start of Fantastic Fest, which is celebrating its 15th year, we wanted to give you the last wave of titles that have been announced for the largest genre movie festival in North America.
We begin with Netflix, who is giving us the US Premiere of I LOST MY BODY, a film that recently had an award-winning debut as part of Cannes Critics Week. Japanese filmmaker Takashi Miike (AUDITION, 13 ASSASSINS) will be bestowed with a Lifetime Achievement Award and a special screening of his 2001 release THE HAPPINESS OF THE KATAKURIS.
Three filmmakers will make their directorial debuts at the fest with the films SAINT MAUD, HOMEWRECKER, and AMIGO!
The World Premiere of RANDOM ACTS OF VIOLENCE seems like a cross between Steve Ditko and Hannibal Lecter, as the story involves a comic book artist who finds himself as the inspiration for the grisly work of a serial killer. The North American Premiere of KEEP ME COMPANY, promises that a romantic weekend will turn sour when unusual occurrences start to happen at a rented house.
Okay if you’ve ever done a Ride Share service then NIGHT DRIVE might be for you. The driver in this tale gets some much-needed excitement when a woman becomes his next passenger for the night.
