  • X-Men #1 – Dawn of X picking up right where Powers of X and House of X left off. The mutantverse is a very different place right now, and I am excited to see where this story goes from here. This is by far the best the X-Men books have been in a long time. I don’t know what will happen with other writers picking up from Hickman’s vision, but I genuinely can’t wait to see.
  • Tales From The Dark Multiverse Batman Knightfall #1 – The best part of Metal was seeing the Dark Multiverse. I have been looking forward to these one shots reframing major moments in the DC Universe in terms of the Dark Multiverse. Knightfall was one of the first comic stories I read when I was getting into DC comics back in the day. X-Men is the book I want to read most this week, but this is a close second.
  • Archie The Married Life 10 Years Later #3 – So last issue we got Veronica’s dad making a deathbed confession that he wishes he spent more time at work. That is just about the coldest thing I have ever read in a comics. Honestly, I loved Life with Archie’s future stories back in the day, but this just doesn’t quite have the same heart and spirit of the original. It’s not even a bad comic, just having a hard time feeling connected to it.
  • Absolute Carnage #4, Absolute Carnage Avengers #1, Absolute Carnage Scream #3, and Absolute Carnage Vs Deadpool #3 – Lots of Absolute Carnage this week. I jumped in on this one a little late. I like Donny Cates, but just have a hard time caring about Venom and Carnage after all these years. But that damn guy keeps pulling me back in!
  • Batman #81 – Tom King has been focused and on a streak of great Batman issues the last few months. I didn’t like the Nightmare arc, but after that, it’s been gold. This is what I want from a King Batman book!! Last issue, Bane ordered Damian to be killed by Thomas Wayne. We already have a dead Alfred, I can’t see them killing Damian too…but then again, Jonathan Kent is heading to future, so maybe Damian is expendable right now. Either way, I am loving Batman right now.
