Looks like Doom 2099 is all-powerful and has conquered the world I the future.

Yet, it is a fragile future with barbarians, and rebellious heroes, at the metaphorical gate.

However, Doom has enslaved the Watcher Uatu.

Most of the issue is the set up the various 2099 one-shots through the eyes of the Watcher.

Doom sees the world and its heroes ungrateful.

However, the Watcher has bad news for Doom as…

…a war is coming possible for the Doctor Doom mantle too by a face bandaged opponent?

Doom 2099’s power remains supreme while…

…the 2099 narrative continues in the noted 2099 specials.

The Pulse:

Decent art and storyline set-up with some cool moments. However story is a bit inaccessible to non 2099 fans like me. 6 out of 10.

Fantastic Four 2099 #1 Spoilers and Review below.

This book features the assembling of a new Fantastic Four 2099 by…

…Venture who was hired by…

…fan fave H.E.R.B.I.E to find them!

The new team assembles…

…but something is wrong…

…and we find out that…

…H.E.R.B.I.E is evil?!

It’s also got lots of weapons…

…and no conscience!

The Pulse:

Ok art with storyline that was ho hum until the surprising H.E.R.B.I.E swerve at the end. With that that ending, this book would have been more of a dud. 5 out of 10.

Amazing Spider-Man #34 Spoilers and Review below.

We finally see what’s happened to Avengers 2099 since they aren’t one of Marvel’s 2019 2099 one-shots.

The future, one that Dooms rules, is collapsing.

Spider-Man 2099 has fallen into the present and is being chased.

At the same time, 2019’s Doctor Doom is assassinated, but…

…it’s really a Doombot who survives and seeks vengeance for its master.

The two storylines converge…

…as Spider-Man 2099 seeks out the Amazing Spider-man 2019.

The future is collapsing…

…as is Spider-Man 2099 who…

…spontaneously combusts?!

The book ends with Doctor Doom…

…taking over New York City as…

…punishment for the attempt on his life.

The Pulse:

A compelling issue with lots of action and drama rendered by amazing art. Entertaining. 9 out of 10.
