The book has a few more variant covers on top of the above.

Plus the main cover.

Here’s the solicitation for this new ongoing series setting the stage for the issue and series.

ALL-NEW, ONGOING SERIES!

Kurt Busiek (MARVELS, Astro City) is back, with the biggest, wildest, most sprawling series ever to hit the Marvel Universe, telling stories that span the decades and range from cosmic adventure to intense human drama, from the street-level to the cosmic, starring literally anyone from Marvel’s very first heroes to the superstars of tomorrow. This first issue includes an invasion from orbit, a picnic in Prospect Park, super hero sightseeing in Manhattan, the All-Winners Squad in 1947, Reed Richards during his time in military intelligence, cosmic beings beyond space and time- and that’s only for starters. Featuring Captain America, Spider-Man, the Punisher, the Human Torch, Storm, the Black Cat, the Golden Age Vision, Aero, Iron Man and Thor, and introducing two brand-new characters, all beautifully drawn by Yildiray Cinar (X-MEN, Legion of Super-Heroes, IRON MAN) in the opening act of a thriller that’ll take us across the Marvel Universe…and beyond. Plus: Who (or what) is KSHOOM? It all starts here. And it goes…everywhere.

We open Sin-Cong in 1947 and…

…Lady Lotus seeking refuge from the All-Winners Squad.

Then we move to Sin-Cong in 2004 and Dr. Reed Richards discovering some giant trouble there.

Then in 2009 we see a U.S.O. show starring the Daredevil with Spider-Man fanboy Flash Thompson in attendance.

Then in 2014 a battle between the Avengers and a dragon in Alaska has some kind unexplained connection to Sin-Cong.

Then, we’re in 2021, but ten days from now as…

…Captain America infiltrates Sin-Cong…

…to confront Lady Lotus…

…with a new All-Winners Squad?!

We then finally get a storyline catch-up, dramatis personae and creators credits page.

Still in 2021, but now in the now Captain America and Captain Marvel relax in a Brooklyn Park where…

…they are recognized and photographed for social media by many including new character Kevin Schumer.

However, his park lunch ends early as…

…his KSHOOM sight-seeing business is demand; I think that might be a repurposed Avengers or Fantastic Four flying machine, but I stand to be corrected.

During the tour they see a battle between the Amazing Spider-Man and the Vulture in the Sky…

…when they are all greeted by a huge explosion!

We go back 20 minutes and learn that this explosion, in New York’s Little Sin-Cong district, was caused by a confrontation between the Punisher and the underworld.

A few minutes after the explosion, looks Punisher is greeted by a returning someone; some we learn is called Ace as…

…we also meet Threadneedle to the end the issue.

A message from writer Kurt Busiek greets readers.

As does Alex Ross’ concept art for Kevin Schumer.

Next up is The Marvels #2 on shelves on May 26, 2021.

The Pulse:

Intriguing story, decent art and a mix of icons and newness. 7 out of 10.
