DC Comics Teases New Shazam Family Costumes For Shazam Fury Of The Gods Movie With Spoilers!

DC Comics reports.

First Look: The Shazam Family Show Off Their Suits

Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the follow up to Zachary Levi’s 2019 blockbuster that introduced the classic kid-turned-superhero character to moviegoers worldwide is currently filming. It’ll likely be a while before we see an actual teaser or trailer from the movie—particularly since it’s not due to hit theaters until 2023—though we have gotten some thrilling news regarding the movie throughout the course of the year, all the same. There was the announcement that no less than Helen Mirren would be playing the villainous goddess Hespera and she was soon joined by Lucy Liu in the role of Kalypso, her sister. Not long after the cameras started rolling, Levi and director David F. Sandberg shared a small, humorous tease of Shazam’s new costume in the film that makes it clear the lighthearted, humorous tone of the first movie will remain firmly in place in the sequel.

However, for fans excited to see Billy Batson return with his full family alongside him, it’s likely today’s update from Sandberg was nothing short of electrifying as the director gave us our first glimpse of the heroic Shazam Family, on set in their updated costumes.

The Shazam Family, basically Billy Batson and his five foster siblings, all infused with various powers of Shazam, made their surprise debut in the climax of the first film. Viewers haven’t had much of a chance to see the full family in action, however, setting up Shazam! Fury of the Gods as our first real opportunity to see everything they can do.

Beyond that, we can only speculate what we’ll see in the Shazam’s new movie, though these suits make us pretty eager to see more. What are your thoughts on the Shazam Family’s updated look? Are you excited to see more of them?

Nice.
