Hunter S. Thompson was a larger than life writer during his crazy ride at Rolling Stone magazine. The man innovated Gonzo journalism where he went deep into the belly of his subjects. He also got extremely high during these times. His books Hell’s Angels, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail are classics. You might have seen his life fictionalized in Where the Buffalo Roam, Rum Diaries and Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas. Now the time he ran to be a sheriff in Colorado is being brought to the screen in Fear and Loathing in Aspen. Normally a person like Hunter wouldn’t be considered a serious candidate, but he ran on Freak Power. The dramatic film comes out on digital and on demand August 31, 2021.
