At the WWE Elimination Chamber 2022 Bobby Lashley was taken out early due to Seth Rollins powerbombing Austin Theory into Lashley’s pod seemingly injuring him.
WWE announced Lashley was in their concussion protocol and would not factor in the match.
Lashley left the match before Brock Lesnar made it in and won Lashley’s WWE Heavyweight championship so, technically, WWE protected Lashley as Lesnar did not need to beat or pin him.
While early reports had this setting up an angle culminating with Lashley vs. Rollins at Wrestlemania 38, a new report suggests that insiders have revealed that Lashley sustained a shoulder injury during his Royal Rumble 2022 match against Brock Lesnar. That match saw Lashley win the title from Lesnar after Roman Reigns interfered. The shoulder injury appears to require surgery with recovery for Lashley pegged initially at 4 months meaning no Wrestlemania 38 match. Stay tuned as this story develops.
