Nightwing has come to Metropolis as a former Teen Titan named Risk was killed in part 1of this story in Nightwing #89 (full spoilers here) and all roads lead to Superman foil Lex Luthor.

He’s confronted by the Rising with Superman joining the fray.

After some cool moments with Nightwing showing that he can fly the World’s Finest take on the Rising.

The Rising also lead to Lex Luthor and Nightwing planted a tracker one of the them.

President Bendix of Gamorra, the benefactor of the Rising, is enraged that one of the Rising is being questioned by the World’s Finest so…

…he sets off a bomb in his head a la Amanda Waller of the Suicide Squad!

Superman has been affected by that and also not feeling worthy of the Superman mantle; Nightwing felt that same way when he donned the Batman cowl and cape.

They agree to continue connecting with Nightwing as mentor to Superman.

The book ends with Superman’s boyfriend Jay Nakamura interrupting the two and revealing…

…that President Bendix has put video online and claims that Superman and Nightwing killed a member of the Rising who as a hero to Gammora!

Bendix naturally leaves out the part that he in fact was the murderer.
