Jim Henson was a major star in television with Sesame Street and The Muppet Show being hits. But he wanted to go beyond the Muppets that we were familiar. He was out to push his art form and ended up making two films that didn’t look like anything he did with Kermit the Frog. Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal proved to be visionary.
