This was apparently not a hotshotted switch due to the Raw wrestlers being stranded by the volcano, but was planned well in advance as a response to the .6 rating making those within TNA they needed a change fast. Of course now that they’ve done the rating and are back at a .5, they have dug themselves quite a hole.
