Randy Orton (or as CM Punk likes to call him, Randal) is a WWE superstar who you could make the argument that he was pushed too fast when he made his arrival to World Wrestling Entertainment. His official debut was a 2002 match on the still WWF SmackDown! against former spark plug Hardcore Holly. Two years later he was World Heavyweight Champion. And if you remember his first run as champ, then you know it didn’t last long, ultimately disrupted by Triple H at Unforgiven 2004. But it wasn’t his ability that was lacking it was attitude.
In the new DVD and Blu-ray release, Randy Orton: Evolution of a Predator, WWE fans will get an in-depth look at the Viper, including stories of him going AWOL twice while enlisted in the USMC, plus his substance abuse problems when he was a member of the Evolution faction (alongside Triple H, Ric Flair and Batista). The three-disc DVD package includes seven hours of content while the two-disc Blu-ray has close to nine hours overall.
The set is highlighted by a 90-minute documentary leading up to Orton’s match against CM Punk at this year’s WrestleMania, plus 16 bonus matches. (The Blu-ray includes three extra matches that are exclusive to its release).
While our review won’t be up until Tuesday, check out these three clips previewing the release.
