The Weekly Pulse – TV's Second Wife

Archive

Well I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was good. Now it’s time to shop for the next month! Oh boy!

Eventhough Thanksgiving is now a week old..you will see a recurring theme this week. That theme will be the “Aftershock of Thanksgiving”! Yes..that means delays in columns and not a lot of new TV shows to review. Along with various references to turkeys and stuff like that. If you don’t know what I am talking about, you will find out by the end of the column.

One last thing I want to talk about before we get to it. Some people have asked me about the name of this column. The Weekly Pulse – TV’s Second Wife is the name of this column. “The Weekly Pulse” is the standard name for the column on Friday where someone, that being me right now, tells you what everyone else has written for the past week at Pulse TV. Now I had to create a subtitle and I came up with “TV’s Second Wife”. The question is why that name? Well..here is the explanation. I want it to seem like Pulse TV and the actual TV shows we review and write about are married. They are joined together in this perfect marriage that benefits both parties. Which I think it does, as we have various “celebs” writing for us about TV shows. Now the second wife part is because the Internet is relatively new. If you wanted to read reviews of TV shows or whatever, you had to go to newspapers or other print media. So really..TV shows and print media was married before TV and the Internet and Pulse TV. So that was TV’s first marriage. That didn’t work out so well. It was okay, but nothing special. But here at Pulse TV..we make it work. TV shows and Pulse TV..this is a marriage that works! Thus..you have TV’s Second Wife. Make sense? Good! And now you know.

With that being said, lets get this thing started once more. Start up your engines..get ready to click and read! It’s time!

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming…

Columns a.k.a. Raid the Fridge!

Note: Since I sent in my column before I skipped town, running from the cops..err..I mean before I left for the Thanksgiving holiday, I missed everything that was sent in on Thanksgiving. That turned out to be a lot, so you will see an extended week this week..if that makes any sense. If it doesn’t, well too bad…

Patrick Gilchriest kicks us off as he first talked about how the Thanksgiving episode of ‘Survivor’ could be the one that shapes up the game for the finish. It could be the most important episode of ‘Survivor’ this season! Was it? Well..you should know by now. You watched it last week..didn’t you? And just because I love all of you, here is some more comments from Patrick. In this column, he talks about Judd being exposed as a liar and he tells you where the final 6 people stand in the game. Only three more episodes left!

Dan Wentzel gets caught up on ‘Survivor’ and his comments on it. Or at least he was caught up by Thanksgiving. Who knows now since it’s been a week!

Kevin Wong didn’t take a holiday as he had the special Thanksgiving Thursday report for you! Were you already passed out from the turkey? Well click above and you catch all the goodness that is Thanksgiving and “The Thursday Report” with Kevin Wong. Want seconds? You’re in luck! Here is this week’s version of “The Thursday Report”. You can be thankful for me next year!

Mathan Erhardt continues our Thanksgiving theme for this week as he has leftovers. Nothing new here. He was up too late with the turkey. Therefore, it’s a repeat. It’s his “25 Favorite Sitcom Themes”! As in theme songs to TV shows. Check that out!

Matt Basilo is back in black. But yet because of the “Thanksgiving Effect” his column is a little short. He only comments on ‘Lost’ and ‘Nip/Tuck’ this week, because every other show took a break for the holidays! But he is not done yet. He thinks he is Superman now. Probably watching too much ‘Smallville’ again. But he has a plan to save Danni on ‘Survivor’. How? Read it!

Dora Malone talks football and ‘Survivor’. Are these two things related? Why..yes..they are! Find out how!

Farah Syed watches ‘Bones’ every week on FOX, but now she has a bone to pick with ‘Bones’! That would be a double bone by my calculation, which is always good!

Recaps a.k.a. Turkey Time!

Trevor MacKay has got a double dose of ‘Invasion’ this week. Actually..this missed my deadline last week. So first check out last week’s recap of ‘Invasion’! Then..go read this week’s episode of ‘Invasion’!

Sarah Jane Correia had the Thanksgiving edition of ‘Survivor’! Was it so important as stated above? Find out if you missed it! While you are at it, how about a second dose of ‘Survivor’? Again..you can thank me later!

Paul Meekin actually has double duty this week! First, you had the two-for-one special on ‘The Apprentice’ last week. There was the clip show, followed by the turkey edition of Donald’s show!

John Duran does double duty as well this week! That means he haslast week’s ‘Lost’ episode! That is actually sitting on my TiVo unwatched. Update: Now it has been watched! Finally..check out some more ‘Desperate Housewives’ for you!

Craig Russell has the last episode of the ‘Gilmore Girls’ this year. He returns in January!

Joey Hart has the second to the last episode of ‘The Biggest Loser’. And then he finishes off this season of ‘The Biggest Loser’ with the finale! Until next year!

Former ‘Apprentice’, John, is back with his weekly comments on ‘The Apprentice’!

He also has a couple of SPOILERS for shows that happen on Sunday night! Find out what will happen next on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and ‘Desperate Housewives’!

The Weekly Pulse Weekly Poll

Last week I asked the question…”how do you feel about ‘holiday-themed’ episodes of TV shows?”. So here are the results:

I LOVE them! – 4
I HATE them! – 0
They are just OKAY! – 2
I have NO OPINION on them! – 2

So no one seems to hate. They either like them or love them or have no opinion on them. Most people agree with me and they LOVE them! Which is why, we will probably always see them on TV. They are just great TV.

Non onto this week’s question. It is a simple question. It’s time for the NEW ‘Real World/Road Rules Challenge’ to begin. This one is the “Guantlet 2″. I want to know how many people watch this show. So I ask all of you..”will you be watching the NEW ‘Real World/Road Rules Challenge’?” I will be recapping the show this time around. That is why I want to know. So click on the link and VOTE NOW!

Time to Talk a.k.a. It’s Time To Get Real on the Road a.k.a. How About a New Challenge!

It’s time for the NEW Real World/Road Rules Challenge to begin. Why am I telling you this? Because I have to recap it starting Monday. So how about a little preview of the show here? Sure..why not.

For those who don’t know, every so often MTV airs a show that puts former ‘Real World’ and ‘Road Rules’ contestants together on teams and they compete in challenges to see which team is better. In the past, it has been simply ‘Real World’ vs. ‘Road Rules’. But they have mixed it up with guys vs. girls and other versions. What’s the point of the show? To win money..of course!

This version of the show is the “Gauntlet 2”. What does that mean? Well the Guantlet is where a person from each team battles it out to see who goes home. This time..it will be teammates competing against each other. The way the teams are put together is also different this time around. It’s “Rookies vs. Veterans”. That means we have people who are new to this challenges vs. people who done more than 2 or 3 of them. Sounds okay to me.

Just like the ‘Real World’ and ‘Road Rules’, these shows always provide drama! Whenever people fight for money, there will always be drama! I am sure this challenge will be no different.

Some may groan about there being another challenge. But people continue to watch them. It’s ‘Survivor’ meets ‘Real World’ in a battle to the death and money! Should be fun to watch? I hope you join me on Monday!

Well that does it for me this week. Any comments, questions, or suggestions are always welcome. Before I go..I have new motto!

“Life Ain’t Always Beautiful, but It’s a Beautiful Ride!”

And as always remember…“You Can’t Fight Fate!”. See you next week!

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
