Fox Home Entertainment has sent word to retailers informing them that Act of Valor will make its arrival to DVD and Blu-ray (as a BD + DVD combo release) on June 5, 2012. The action film got a lot of press for its depiction of military combat with its use of active-duty U.S. Navy SEALs instead of actors.
The SEALs star alongside actors Roselyn Sanchez, Alex Veadov, Jason Cottle and Nester Serrano, in a film that fictionalizes a real-life Navy SEAL operation.
When a mission to recover a kidnapped CIA operative unexpectedly results in the discovery of an imminent, terrifying global threat, an elite team of highly trained Navy SEALs must immediately embark on a heart-stopping secret operation, the outcome of which will determine the fate of us all.
The DVD release includes director’s commentary and eight deleted scenes. The Blu-ray includes those extras plus interviews with the Navy SEALs (seven in all), a making-of, three featurettes (“Real Bullets,” “Real SEALs Real Tactics,” “Silent Warriors”), a music video for Keith Urban’s “For You” and its making of, and a video introduction from the film’s directors, Mike “Mouse” McCoy and Scott Waugh.
The DVD carries a MSRP of $29.98, while the Blu-ray + DVD combo release will retail for $39.99. You can pre-order Act of Valor by clicking on the highlighted links.
