In what promises to be one of the most entertaining seasons of The Ultimate Fighter ever, there is one fighter that definitely commanded more attention than the others on last night’s The Ultimate Fighter season premiere.
Elias Theodorou, a lanky 6’11” middleweight fighter from Toronto boasts an undefeated record of 8-0 heading into the show and, as evidenced by last night’s premiere episode, is one of the biggest personalities of the season. Quick with one-liners and amusingly arrogant, it almost seemed like Theodorou had the personality and character of a World Wrestling Entertainment superstar, but blessed with the athletic acumen needed to succeed in the UFC.
Yesterday at the exclusive The Ultimate Fighter premiere party at Rogers Sportsnet in Toronto, I caught up with Theodorou to ask him about his time in the house, if the cameras affected his training and his larger-than-life personality.
We discussed his “Spartan” nickname, whether the fighters in the house actually got along (as they are all literally living with their competition) and what it was like working with Team Canada coach, Patrick Cote.
