UFC 132: Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber II Confirmed For July 2nd

News

The UFC has confirmed that Dominick Cruz will defend his World Bantamweight Title against Urijah Faber in the MGM Grand Garden Arena on July 2nd at UFC 132. This will be the first 135Ibs championship fight in UFC history and will give Cruz the chance to avenge his previous loss to Faber. They last met in 2007 when Faber destroyed Cruz in just 98seconds to successfully defend his World Featherweight Title.

The show will be the first to be headlined by one of the championships that came into the UFC as a result of the merger with the WEC. As such it will be a test of the drawing power of a champion and title that is largely unknown to UFC fans. To help ensure the event does well on PPV and at the box office the line-up includes popular middleweights Wanderlei Silva and Chris Leben meeting in what should be an absolute brawl while in what could be his last match former light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz faces TUF7 winner Ryan Bader. The card will also see Dennis Siver face Matt Wiman and Dong Hyun Kim vs Carlos Condit.
