Colin Delaney vs. Chavo Guerrero

Kane over Elijah Burke by Chokeslam
I see that we’re all business tonight. Burke doesn’t look very happy about this. Maybe it’s because of his sloppy work a few weeks ago? Elijah does his best to get around Kane to start, but gets an uppercut anyway. He rolls out of the ring before getting a big ole boote, and fails to pull Kane out of the ring, instead getting a boot to the face.

Kane drops Burke over the apron and throws him back in to deliver a back breaker. Kane bends Burke’s neck back and it doesn’t look very good for Burke. A few clubberin blows later and Kane throws some knees to Burke’s back. Burke goes goes down easy with a body slam and again works the back of Burke. This is an interesting turn of events to see Kane working an area like this on a smaller guy. Back to his feet burke takes an uppercut that floors him.

Kane pulls Burke up, whips him to the ropes and drops his head in time for Burke to get a bot and an uppercut of his own. Burke sends Kane to the corner and throws some punches, but gives Kane enough space to whip him to the corner. Kane goes after Burke, Burke moves aside and goes for the Elijah Express. The Express is derailed and Kane gets a chokeslam for the easy win.

that was an interesting match because usually they would go out of their way to make Burke look good against a big guy like Kane. Instead, we get this squash. It’s not like the ECW crowd needs to be introduced to Kane. If anything, Burke needs some momentum going into Wrestlemania.

Backstage Armando and Mark Henry chit chat and Chavo comes in to make things a little awkward. Chavo finds out that Kane, Big Daddy V, The Great Khali and Mark Henry will all be in the battle royal at Wrestlemania. They are interrupted by Colin Delaney who gets talked down to by Chavo. Armando Estrada makes a match between Colin adn Chavo. If Colin wants a contract, he’ll have to beat Chavo.

Kofi Kingston over James Curtis
James Curtis? This is the best that can do? If you haven’t noticed, the booking team is putting Kingston in a holding pattern until after Wrestlemania. Kingston does his usual moves and takes the win of Curtis.

Here’s a list of Kingston’s opponents to date:

  1. James Curtis
  2. Santino MArella and Layla (with Kelly Kelly)
  3. James Curtis
  4. Rob Echoes
  5. David Owen

So I’m not exactly happy to see him out and wrestling. He needs a feud and he needs it before people stop caring. ThoughI already have.

Backstage CM Punk can’t believe that Festus will be ready for their match. Jesse says that he’ll be ready. Riiight.

As an aside, I was really happy to see the tag team match end the way it did last week. It was a great match, and that feud deserves to be stretched out. I had to admit that I had fantasies of a rematch at Wrestlemania. It would be an amazing build up to have Colin’s first win come at Mania, but the card looks pretty solid at this point, so my fantasies will have to wait.

CM Punk, Jesse and Festus over The Douches (Miz and Morrison) and Shelton Benjamin by F5
I’m not sure I get the “biscuits and gravy” song for Jesse and Festus. Festus goes after Morrison, tosses him in the ring and starts with the punches. He gets Morrison in the corner and continues the punishment. One body slam later and Jesse is tagged in. Festus slams Jesse on Morrison for a two. TWO!

Jesse hits a drop toe hold on Morrison and a low drop kick for a two. TWO! The crowd chants for Punk as he is the only person they care about in the ring. The Miz is tagged in and so is Punk. The heels charge and the faces pull the ropes down and the heels spill out of the ring. Punk hits a spring board plancha. Jesse runs to the ropes, but is cut short by Shelton with a clothesline. Shelton goes after Festus, but the punch is caught. One handed Festus pulls Shelton over the top rope and outside the ring. The heels are down and outside and we head to commercial.

We’re back and Punk has control of The Miz. Jesse is tagged in, gets the roll up on Miz and gets a two. TWO!

Jesse head grads the Miz over and hits a rolling neck snap for another two. TWO!

Punk is tagged in and hits some kicks on the Miz and a body slam. Punk follows it up with a knee to the head for a two. TWO!

Punk hits a few knees and whips Miz to the corner. Instead of the knee lift he goes after Morrison on the apron. Afterwards he runs to knee the Miz, and before he can get the bulldog Shelton pulls him down. Shelton’s tagged in and goes to work grounding Punk. He hits a T-Bone and tags in Morrison. Morrison hits the tilt a while leg drop and goes to work on Punk’s back. The crowd is huge behind Punk. Punk fights out and Morrison hits a modified back breaker. Punk hits a school boy, but it’s kicked out. Morrison throws a knee to Punk’s head and the heels have control again. Morrison hits some punches and uppercuts but can only get a two. TWO!

Punk has a kick caught and hits an enziguiri. Punk and Morrison tag to Miz and Festus. Festus clears the ring and hammers in on the Miz, throwing him corner to corner and hitting a clothesline. Festus hits a bicycle kick and only can get a two on a pin, as it’s broken up by both other heels.

Jesse hits a missile drop kick on Morrison, Shelton goes after Punk and Festus hits whatever the hell his finisher is. It looks like an F5.

Does anyone remember after we al found out that Chris Benoit made himself retarded with all of the chair shots to the head and the WWE said that there would be no more chair shots? Where the hell was that rule last night? Cena blasted everyone he could with a chair shot to the head. I’ve been noticing that the rule has been lax lately, and that is cause for some concern on my end.

After a small video about Big Show and Mayweather, I want show to kick the ever living shit out of him. Big show’s got some awesome looking dogs and seems like a great guy. Mayweather acts like a douche and isn’t half as entertaining.

Back in the ring, Tazz interviews Colin Delaney about his match against the ECW champion. Colin is likeable and gets some legit crowd support.

Chavo Guerrero over Colin Delaney by Gory Bomb
This should be an interesting match. Collar and elbow to start Chavo gets a knee to the gut and Colin is selling like a champ. Forearm to the back and a european uppercut and Colin is grasping or the ropes. chavo whips colin and Colin reverses and arm drag, ducks a clothesline and hits a drop kick. Chavo’s outside the ring and Colin re-groups in the ring. Chavo says he’s gonna stop playing nice, and the crowd’s got a “COLIN” chant going!

Chavo plows into colin and gets in stomps, axe handles and punches. Chavo stretches out colin and Colin fights out somehow. Colin is choked in the ropes and he’s also whipped to the corner. Chavo charges in the corner, but misses. Colin hits some elbows, whips Chavo and goes for a drop kick, but Chavo holds on to the ropes. Chavo hits the three amigos and the crowd is DEAD. He can’t get to the third and the crowd comes alive for Colin. Chavo goes tot he top rope and MISSES THE FROG SPLASH! Colin grabs a leg and one… two… TWO!

Chavo hits a Gory Bomb on Colin and gets the win.

That’s the show, and I hope it’s not the last of Colin.
