In an update to news of Gail Kim leaving TNA, Mike Johnson at PWInsider.com reported today that the former WWE Women’s Champ will be coming back to WWE, according to his sources.
Johnson writes that the offer from WWE is a very good one, and since Kim’s TNA deal is about to expire, she simply won’t renew. TNA is apparently fine with this, and Kim will face Awesome Kong tonight in her final appearance under her current contract with the promotion.
From my point of view, this is a great move for WWE and Kim. She’s a solid worker who’s only improved as part of TNA’s Knockouts division, and WWE now has two women’s titles to get over. She’s a good mix of looks and athleticism, and I’d expect her to go to Smackdown to replace Cherry, but am hoping to see her on Raw mixing it up with Mickie, Katie, etc.
