Mike Johnson at PWI is reporting that Batista has suffered a torn hamstring. Apparently, he’d been having trouble with it since the European tour, and it’s gone hill since then. This is his third major muscle tear (his tricep tear caused him to vacate the world title in 2006).
Johnson’s sources tell him that Batista will be undergoing surgery shortly, and is expected to be out until June (a return at Summerslam is considered a worst case scenario). There’s no word as of yet about whether WWE will acknowledge his injury or simply let Randy Orton’s head punt remain the reason for his absence.
