BRET MICHAELS STILL IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER SUFFERING BRAIN HEMORRHAGE

Poison singer Bret Michaels is still in critical condition after having suffered a brain hemorrhage last Thursday, and is currently under 24-hour surveillance in the intensive care unit of an undisclosed Los Angeles-area medical facility. Although it was reported over the weekend that Michaels’ condition had stabilized, his manager, Janna Elias, confirmed that while his condition has not declined, it has also not improved, as doctors are still running tests to try to determine the exact origin of the hemorrhage.

What they where able to discover after the 47-year-old singer-turned-reality star was admitted to an area hospital last week, after complaining of severe head pain, is that he had suffered a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage, which is a bleeding originating at the base of the brain stem. While this gives them an idea of where the source of the bleeding is, further tests will pinpoint the exact spot to be treated.

Elias has been making regular updates on Michaels’ Web site, as this incident almost directly follows another hospital trip on April 12, when he was admitted to a hospital in San Antonio, Texas, for an emergency appendectomy.
