The move will happen for the 2011-2012 season.
BYU announced they will leave the Mountain West Confrence and become a football indepent next season. BYU will move to the West Coast Confrence in all other sports.
BYU had until Wednesday to notify the MWC if it was going to leave for the 2011-12 season.
BYU is working on an agreement with ESPN to televise its games.
