In a follow-up to an article we posted over the weekend regarding Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s confirmed casting in The Dark Knight Rises, Variety had reported that the actor would be playing Alberto Falcone (a.k.a. the Holiday Killer), son of mob kingpin Carmine Falcone. (Tom Wilkinson played Carmine in Batman Begins.)
Well, if Variety had a source that had a direct line to writer-producer-director Christopher Nolan, it would appear that Nolan was funneling bad information to throw people off. It wouldn’t be the first time for Nolan; he likes to mess with the minds of the core Batman aficionados.
So with the information being debunked by Entertainment Weekly, fans can now re-speculate on just who Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play.
