The highly-anticipated eighth season of The Big Bang Theory will revisit the age-old conundrum of trying to appease two people at the same time.
The show will resume 45 days into Sheldon’s cross country road trip. As expected, it isn’t going well.
“His belongings have been stolen and he needs Leonard to come pick him up in Arizona,” showrunner Steve Molaro told TVLine. “Amy’s not pissed at him for leaving, but she’s certainly not thrilled that when he ran into trouble he called Leonard instead of her.”
In addition, Penny’s character changes when she puts her acting dream on hold to work as a pharmaceutical sales rep at Bernadette’s companany. Molaro says that this will put an additional strain on her relationship with Leonard.
“It alters their dynamic because now she’s actually doing well financially,” says Molaro. “It’s a new chapter for her.”
For those assuming that Bernadette and Howard will become parents in the new season, don’t hold your breath. Molaro says that this won’t “be happening anytime soon” as the show doesn’t want bring a baby on just yet.
