Hart Family, Bam Bam Bigelow & Trish Stratus Updates

Bruno Sammartino said this week he was not going to be at any of next month’s ROH shows as the offer given to him was insulting.

Julie Hart and Michelle Billington, two sisters who married Bret Hart and Dynamite Kid respectively in the early ’80s, are writing a book together. Hart said “Our book will delve into our humble beginnings, love stories, parenthood, the breakdown of both marriages and the subsequent stories about surviving life after fame and fortune. It will be a glimpse of two women caught up in a man’s world. It will not be a man bashing book.”

As previously reported, Armed and Famous, the CBS reality TV show with Trish Stratus, was cancelled due to low ratings suffered whilst going up against American Idol. It fell to a 2.9 rating on 01/24 for an episode built around Stratus and LaToya Jackson posing as prostitutes for a sting operation. They had to dress as unattractively as possible to pass for Muncie prostitutes but Stratus was said to still be too pretty to pull it off. Regarding whether she misses wrestling, Stratus said “I’m done. I could never do that touring schedule again. Wrestling is in my blood. I love it, so if there were an opportunity to do something again in the ring, maybe. But going on the road? No. I’ve moved on.”

As Bam Bam Bigelow was practically destitute when he died several wrestlers raised money for his funeral. Vince McMahon agreed to pay for his funeral in New Jersey, while there was a second one in Florida that various local workers paid for. Afa was contacted by WWE to spread the word around and names including Mick Foley, Diamond Dallas Page and Brother Ray were in attendance.
