The Real World: Las Vegas Reunion Week – Wednesday – Introduction

Features, Shows

The Real World is the longest running reality show on television today. It’s been around for 15 years and is currently shooting its 19th season! The premise behind the show is to put 7 strangers from all around the country and world and put them in a nice house for 4 months. MTV then follows them around every second of every day while they are in the house and films their lives. Of course, this is not the “real” world at all, but in the end some realness usually results as these people learn about themselves and each other.

The show has been set in New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Miami, Boston, Seattle, Hawaii, New Orleans, Chicago, Nashville, Las Vegas, San Diego, Philadelpia, Denver, Austin, Key West, and Sydney. Of all of the places, though, probably the one place that was the wildest and craziest was the season that was set in Las Vegas. That’s the season that has gotten the best ratings for any Real World season.

That is also the season that most would say had the the most drama. So it’s no surprise that MTV wanted to cash in on the success of that season. They need some better ratings, so why not “reunite” the Las Vegas cast for another show. How about you throw them into the same house? Actually it’s an awesome suite in a nice hotel between a bar and a casino. That’s all the elements you need for another entertaining season or so MTV hopes.

On Wednesday, May 30, Reunited: The Real World Las Vegas is set to debut on MTV at 10 p.m. ET/PT. It follows the same format as the original season, but the big difference is that everyone is now 5 years older. Have they learned anything in that time and will things be different when they live with each other again?

Those answers will only come in time, but to help you get a better feel of what this show is all about and what these people have been doing in the last five years, I got the chance to talk to various roommates from The Real World: Las Vegas. So all this week Reality Dish Presents “The Real World: Las Vegas Reunion Week” with my exclusive interviews with the cast. Enjoy!

Coming up tomorrow to start us off on “The Real World: Las Vegas Reunion Week” is my exclusive interview with Frank Roessler. Stay tuned…

Reunited: The Real World Las Vegas airs on MTV on Wednesday nights at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT time starting on May 30.

Sir Linksalot: Reality Television

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
