Disney has signed an exclusive first look deal with Marvel Comics pioneer Stan Lee. Lee, the creator of Spider-Man and many other comic book characters, signed a multi-year deal with the company to develop and produce all forms entertainment for every division of the Disney company.
Disney Home Entertainment guru Bob Chapek was very instrumental in getting this deal with Lee done. He will work closely with lee on many future projects. Disney Studios chairman Dick Cook is happy to have Lee in the Disney family.
“Stan is considered one of the most creative and inventive forces in the industry today,” Cook said. “We are honored to be working with someone as formidable as Stan and his production company and welcome them to the Disney family.“
Lee, who’s most recent projects include Spider-Man 3 and the upcoming Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer, is also very excited about the deal.
