After Adam Carolla’s brief stint on Dancing With the Stars, he’s decided to try his hand at TV again.
CBS decided on an 11th-hour pickup for the radio host’s multicamera pilot Ace in the Hole.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedian will play a husband and dad who works as a driving instructor.
The project is produced by CBS Paramount, BermanBraun and Jackhole Industries, Carolla’s company with Jimmy Kimmel. Carolla also wrote the script with The Man Show’s Kevin Hench.
It’s fortuitous timing for Carolla, whose CBS radio show in Los Angeles was canceled the day before the pilot was picked up.
In other CBS news, Matthew Yang King will play a bomb expert for the FBI drama pilot Washington Field. Also, the cast-contingent pilot for the drama Confessions of a Contractor, based on Richard Murphy’s book about a contractor’s view of LA life, has been pushed because it didn’t meet the network’s deadline.
