Bond Writing Duo Becomes Trio With Peter Morgan

Disc Announcements, News

Neal Purvis and Robert Wade wrote the two latest James Bond films Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. Now Frost/Nixon writer Peter Morgan is joining the team for the 23rd installment in the franchise.

Daniel Craig is already set to reprise his role as 007, with sources saying that EON and MGM are looking at a 2011 release.

“Peter, Neal and Robert are extraordinarily talented and we’re looking forward to working with the three of them,” Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said in a statement.

This new Bond film will be the first of the new films to be produced solely by MGM (just as the first 20 were) as Quantum and Casino were co-productions between MGM and Sony, with the latter distributing.

Along with Frost/Nixon, Morgan, has also written the Oscar nominated films The Last King of Scotland and The Queen.

Taking a break from the world of 007, Purvis and Wade are currently writing The Brazilian Job, a sequel to their film, The Italian Job.

Peter Morgan has written some amazing films, his addition to the Bond writing team can only mean good things for martini drinking spy.
