Jay Hieron (17-4) has agreed to a multi-fight deal with Strikeforce and will make his debut in a welterweight championship match against Nick Diaz on the Aug. 15 Strikeforce show.
Hieron entertained offers from the UFC but ultimately chose the company where he would be a more visible position immediately. He’ll lock horns with Nick Diaz to determine the first-ever Strikeforce welterweight champion.
