Roddy Piper Talks Hart vs. Flair, Wrestling Vince, WCW, HOF, Cena And Hardy

Monday Night Mayhem has highlights of their interview with Roddy Piper at PWI. Being Piper, he talks about a whole lot of things. Here’s what jumped out at me:

On the feud between his friends Bret Hart and Ric Flair- “I think if I was doing an intervention I would have to say that both Ric Flair & Bret Hart were two of the greatest wrestlers in our business, they both had their unique styles, they both have made a lot of money. Whatever the original difference of opinion was, you know what, let it go… Life’s too short. Stop it.”

He also says he wasn’t happy about his match at Wrestlemania 25 and that he’ll be back “sooner rather than later.” As far as who he’d like to work with when he does return, he definitely has someone in mind:

“You got Vince McMahon who’s done a great job of promoting, who became a bodybuilder, and the last I saw him, I think he’s convinced himself he could fight now. I say this…why don’t you just put Roddy Piper & Vince McMahon in the ring. Put a million dollars in a Halliburton in the corner & Cobra Shelby to drive away. And the guy that can walk away and take that Halliburton & that Cobra Shelby is the winner. The other guy don’t get nothing.”

Piper also talks about his time in WCW and WWE’s upcoming “Rise and Fall” DVD for the promotion, his thoughts on the Hall of Fame (the Million Dollar Man and Bruno should be in and Howard Finkel shouldn’t), and today’s crop of WWE stars (he likes Jeff Hardy as a performer and a person but thinks Cena’s been too whitewashed by WWE).
