The Swedish outlet, Ystads Allehanda, has reported that actor Stellan Skarsgård (of Pirates of the Carribean fame) will be playing a role in the Marvel’s Thor. Based on the successful Marvel comic, the movie tells the story of the Norse God, Thor, a brave warrior whose reckless actions bring about an ancient war which threatens both the realm of the Gods and the mortal plane.
Skarsgård joins a cast that already includes Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, and Colm Feore. The movie is scheduled to release May 20, 2011.
For the moment Skarsgård’s role is being kept under wraps.
“They wanted me to sign without reading the script. That I refused to do. Then they sent one to me that was so coded that I could only print one copy,” said Stellan Skarsgård.
