In an early announcement to retailers, MGM/UA has revealed that John Carpenter’s Escape from New York starring Kurt Russell is coming to Blu-ray on August 3.
No word on if the special features from the two-disc special edition DVD will be included with the release. The only details that have been revealed is that it will be a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack with a suggested list price of $24.99.
It was inevitable that Snake’s first escape would get the Blu-ray treatment. Last month, Paramount released Snake’s escape from the West Coast (Escape from L.A.).
MGM is also planning several other catalog Blu-ray + DVD Combo releases on August 3 including Blood Simple, Bull Durham, and Kalifornia
