That collective groan you just heard was the entire Carolina Panthers fan base.
Stanford QB Andrew Luck who was expected to be the number 1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft has decided to stay in school and pursue a degree in architectural design.
Luck will be a red-shirt Junior next season meaning he still has two years of eligibility left if he would choose to use both. Luck said he is one pace to finish his degree in the spring of 2012, that would mean he would graduate after next year’s football season, which leaves open the possiblity of staying only for one addition year.
Luck passed for 3,338 yards this year with 32 touchdowns and just eight interceptions. He also completed 71 percent of his passes.
